Sustainability at West Brama

In our company, we strive for success by aligning our business practices with important sustainability goals. We believe in the powerful impact that businesses can have on society and the environment.

West Brama, as the official distributor of Shell lubricants, fully supports and promotes the Powering Progress strategy in Ukraine.

What does Sustainability and Powering Progress mean for Shell?

Powering Progress is Shell’s strategy aimed at accelerating the transition to a zero-emissions business. It is designed to integrate sustainable development issues into the business strategy.
The commitment to sustainable development is part of Shell’s General Business Principles since 1997. These principles, along with Shell’s Code of Conduct, extend to how we conduct business and cooperate with the communities in which Shell operates.
Shell strives to provide more and cleaner energy solutions responsibly, balancing short-term and long-term interests and integrating economic, environmental, and social considerations.

Powering Progress has four key goals that support Shell’s purpose of collectively advancing progress through offering more and cleaner energy solutions:

  • Prosperity creation
  • Net-zero emissions. Achieving zero net emissions by collaborating with customers and other sectors to accelerate the transition to zero emissions.
  • Nature respect. Protecting the environment, reducing waste, and making a positive impact on biodiversity.
  • Changing lives for the better. Improving people’s lives through our products and operations and supporting an inclusive society.

To decarbonize our activities, Shell is taking the following actions:

  • Changing our product portfolio, acquisitions, and investing in new low-carbon projects.
  • Phasing out facilities, selling assets, and reducing production from existing oil and gas fields.
  • Increasing energy efficiency in operations.
  • Transforming remaining integrated refineries into low-carbon energy and chemical parks, ultimately decommissioning some facilities.
  • Using more renewable energy to power our plants and operations.
  • Developing carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies for our assets.

West Brama offers the use of Shell lubricants because they contribute to outstanding sustainable results for our clients. The high-quality lubricants from Shell effectively reduce fuel consumption in mobile equipment, provide longer replacement intervals, and keep machinery in excellent condition, resulting in reduced carbon emissions.

West Brama offers the use of Quaker Houghton metalworking fluids, which have high technological characteristics and resistance to bacterial infections. This significantly extends the service life of metalworking fluids without the need for a complete replacement. Our specialized equipment and additives used by West Brama experts help maintain optimal conditions for metalworking fluids, while reducing the amount of concentrate used and liquid waste.

This approach contributes to a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and industrial waste, aiming to ensure prosperity for future generations.
